After being asked to look at supporting a local initiative that provides support for vulnerable children, I decided to contact a local organisation who support victims of domestic violence.
We were asked to provide a welcome bag for the children, who quite often arrive with just the clothes on their backs. We quickly got to work and provided 30 school bags which contained a number items, such as a game, colouring book and pencils, pens and pencils, a couple of note books and a drink’s bottle. We also provided vouchers so the kids could get new pyjamas which were very gratefully received by Zoe and the team at Progress Housing
Zoe Ford, Child Support Worker/Refuge Support Worker “Thank you so much for back packs they are fantastic. When children move into our refuge, they often come with very little so it’s a lovely welcoming surprise when they find a back pack on their bed filled with goodies. It’s so nice to see the children proudly going to school with their bags on their backs. As you can imagine It can be quite overwhelming for children leaving their homes and things like this make all the difference”.
Thanks again for supporting us.
With your help we can keep making a difference!
